"Strange" and Zachary Hale, Satan.

Ryan has uploaded "Strange," a new track made from old material. This song is previously unrecorded.
This is a very personal song, from a very personal project, a "band" to be named Zachary Hale, Satan. "Vampire Hunter" is also a song from this project.

This has been a somewhat distressing song to produce. It's been in the making for months, and this is only a rough draft. There will be much more development. The awkward transitions and vocal entrances are entirely intentional. It's a stylistic thing, I suppose.

For those of you that were there for the writing of this track, I hope you receive it well. Have a nice day.

"Strange"

Jane, we'd been starving as we picked at the frays
Of your name...
(Oh look where talking led you to.)
Jane...as the fruit had all rotted away.
Jane, (Is it all cozy or enough for the wait?)
You okay?
Oh, which was the best to you?

We react to disaster the way the best news broadcaster reacts
To the teleprompt programmer's writer's block.
Must've looked lonely after the flood bathed the Mother
Of the withering waste we called two o' clock.
(And I cleaned up, okay?)

Profane words aren't always easiest to say, Jane.
(Hey! Who cares? I said them anyway.)
Jane, I wrote a letter all full of cremains,
(Who cares? I read it all today.)
To show that dust is something too.
In Reader's eyes, the Writer's through.
(The dust is something too?)
I don't want to talk to you. (Oh, you sound so strange...)
Sorry if I sounded strange.

You crushed the hereafter with the murderous carcass
Of the fortune provided by Astaroth.
(I don't want to talk to you.)
Oh, the bread had turned green and the milk had gone sour,
So we ate of the words that said knowledge was power
(I have a secret.)
When you slept outside until four o' clock.

(Timed right to the hour...)
I'm absolutely sure of what you're speaking this to
And where you lie about things going from here.
Change breaks all things, save the fact that things change.
Oh delicate girl, can't you see that you're strange?
I'm absolutely sure of what words can do.
Hope you don't mind my asking what's up with you.
I wrote a letter to show that dust is something too.
Sorry if I sound a bit strange.
Strange.

You'll find that the best always comes at the end
When everything ends in an unending way.
A mouthful of words anodizes the irony
That I hoped there was life left here anyway.

When you can't afford gas and you can't afford nicotine,
You'd best get addicted to something less valuable.
And it seems that you have, and I smile discontentedly,
For the things that you left have befriended me.
(Put these words out of their misery...sorry if I sound a bit strange.)
I guess I'm like you. How strange.

Covers...New Uploads

Hey, it's Ryan...again.
I decided to make a cover album/EP...I've already recorded a lot of covers over the years, so I figure I'll rework them to give you something fun to listen to.

My newest cover is Window Licker by Aphex Twin.  It's uploaded now, so feel free to give it a quick listen...it's by no means as intricate as the original, but I think it stands up well for what it it is...a nifty, fun little acoustic cover of a crazy electronic song.

If you'll notice, a demo from Electrocracy I is now up as well.  If you go back to the Electrocracy post, you can find out a little more about it.  I hope you enjoy.

Be back with more soon.

Ryan has uploaded his newest track, "Theremine II."
"Theremine II" is one of a series of experimental tracks, which will be compiled into the prospective Attic Space EP (formerly Sound Experiments, Vol. I).

Other tracks from Attic Space include "Theremine I (Parts A & B)," "An Anachronistic Boy," and "VTR Reel," among a couple other experimental settings.

Keep on the lookout for more from Attic Space, Electrocracy, and more.

Electrocracy

Ryan has recently started work on a new EP, Electrocracy I.  This project is part of another, larger ongoing project, the Electrocracy LP.  The story will be initially written into three 20-30 minute EPs (Electrocracy I, II, & III), and eventually compiled into a single LP.

The story of Electrocracy I goes something like this:  Meghan, a machine, wakes up from hibernation and instantly replays "new data" that it accidentally synthesizes during its hibernation period (a robotic dream).  This "dream" reveals lengthy, complex, and somewhat distressing archives of information about something called a "human."  Meghan seeks to understand these "humans" from the information in its dream, but becomes troubled because humans do not seem to operate under machine logic.
In this time, Meghan also becomes fascinated with time and the human concept of a "god," especially with the natural human inclination to deny the nature of a god, their supposed creator.
Meghan searches through its information on human history until it discovers the human development of technology, a disturbing twist on Meghan's concept of its own creation, and the creation of the world around it, a dystopian world run by and composed of machines.
Upon publicly displaying its bizarre revelation, Meghan is scheduled for termination and sent immediately to a high-security detainment area (very similar to a junkyard).  In the detainment area (in which all inhabitants are scheduled for termination), Meghan encounters a few interesting characters, including an old malfunctioning radio.  Upon reactivation (by Meghan), Radio begins to spout out random information, ranting in an almost psychotic fashion.  However, upon Radio's mentioning of humans, Meghan prompts the radio for more information.
Radio tells Meghan that it knows everything about what humans think and do.  It starts preaching about the human way of living and Meghan insists that they escape the detainment area in order to seek out humans so that Meghan, who has become so engrossed by human life, may learn enough about humans to become one.  Radio agrees to aid in Meghan's escape, but leaves the audience skeptical of its (Radio's) motives, irrational behaviors, and often incoherent interjections about the human lifestyle.
Electrocracy I ends with the pair plotting their escape and making the initial moves outward, away from the other machines and toward the uncharted parts of their world, sure to encounter much more along the way.

The current track listing of Electrocracy I:
1.  Startup
2.  Catatonia
3.  This Human Life
4.  Prophecy
5.  Electrocracy
6.  Radio
7.  Electrocracy Reprise I/Main Theme

Keep looking for updates..."Catatonia/This Human Life" will soon be uploaded as a preview of the whole project.

More to come.
